About Us

We met in Perth in 2004 through our mutual love of rock'n'roll and some very helpful friends!

Howard has danced rock'n'roll since about 1996 and is also proficient in many other forms of dance, including most styles of ballroom.

Jacqui has been dancing since she was small starting with calisthenics, and moving onto jazz, tap and classical ballet during her teens. After a friend suggested learning rock'n'roll 12 years ago, she went along to a class and has never stopped since!

In 2005, after both having taught with other people over the years, we decided to share the enjoyment we get from dancing and teach under the banner of Old 55 Rock'n'Jive, a name Howard had created many years earlier due to the fact that he was born in 1955.

Our main focus, of course, is to teach you how to rock'n'roll, but not without a smile on your face! If you leave our classes feeling like you've learnt something, feeling like you've had a workout and feeling like you've enjoyed yourself, then we will be happy.
